How does the chapter generator work?
It reads the video captions, splits the transcript into even sections snapped to sentence boundaries, and titles each one from what is said there. The first marker is always 0:00, which YouTube requires.
What are the rules for YouTube chapters?
You need at least three chapter markers, the first one at 0:00, and each chapter must be at least ten seconds long. List them in the description, one per line, as "0:00 Title".
Does it work on any video?
Any public video with captions, including auto-generated ones. Videos with captions disabled cannot be chaptered this way, because there is no spoken text to segment.
Is it free?
You get one run without an account and one more after creating a free account. Beyond that it runs on a paid plan, because fetching transcripts costs us per video.
Can I edit the titles?
Yes — the output is an editable text box. Titles are drawn from the transcript, so they describe the section accurately but rarely read as punchy as one you would write yourself.
